The Vintage is finished!
Filed in: The Vines
The 2008 vintage is now
in and looks to be absolutely stunning.
Now it's time for more hard work as the fruit is fermented and aged in oak, which will take a good part of the next year.
Next step is to leave the vines alone so that they can recover before they are pruned down and the cycle starts again.
The air in the village is still abuzz with winery staff working late into the night to ensure that fruit is crushed or chilled and that all the precious grapes are used in premium condition.
A beautiful time of the year to visit Martinborough with the vine leaves changing colour as the grapes are picked and the crisp clear air cooling down at night, which makes it a perfect opportunity to curl up in front of a roaring fire.
