With antique Mexican doors, original New Zealand artwork, Italian tiled floor, huge open fire, leather chairs and views directly over the vineyard, Tirohana Estate Restaurant offers clients a memorable experience of award-winning wine, premium cuisine with excellent service.
Our atmospheric Emporium is an ideal and secluded area in which to enjoy a pre-dinner drink or post-lunch coffee – with lunch and dinner available along with a traditional Sunday Roast table d’hote menu throughout the winter season. Weather permitting, clients are welcome to dine al fresco on the terraces overlooking the picturesque vines.
Tirohana Estate restaurant has been listed as a ‘top pick’ in the Lonely Planet 2015 and 2017 New Zealand guidebook, has won TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence awards each and every year since inception along with the New Zealand Beef & Lamb Hallmark of Excellence awards.
If you are staying in the village then we are more than happy to come and pick you up and drop you home safely during dinner service – please let us know when you book (you may prefer to walk or drive in and we can drop you back to your accommodation).

Private dining options are available for that extra special occasion – with even an option of having your personal chef attend to every detail.
We also cater for special events, weddings, birthday party and anniversary celebrations in our Grand Marquee (in situ from September through March). And have gift vouchers available in all denominations, which can be redeemed through the restaurant (and indeed through the Cellar Door for wine orders or accommodation).
Special Diets are catered for with advance notice – Tirohana prides itself on creating dishes and menus for our guests who are gluten free. lactose intolerant, have allergies, are vegans, vegetarians or who have specific religious or cultural food requirements.
Tirohana Estate is proud to be GE Free – that means, to the best of our abilities that we do not use any product that has been genetically modified or produced from genetically modified plants, oils, food additives, enzymes and yeasts.
The photogenic terraces occupy an elevated position with magnificent views across the vines to the hills beyond.
Outdoor wooden and wrought iron furniture with large sun umbrellas, schist stone walls, Italian tiled steps and landscaped native shrubbery offer guests the perfect environment in which to sample a glass of wine or casual meals from the Lunch menu year round (weather dependent) as well as BBQ food and special events during the spring and summer.
