
We have several options if you are considering a Christmas function, personal or work/office party or event towards the end of the year in the Christmas and Holiday season lead up. Whether it’s a day out from Wellington or you are staying the night in Martinborough, we can host groups large and small as a venue for your special Christmas themed event (and can also offer accommodation on site for up to 16 guests (subject to availability) at our vinestay property).
As always, Tirohana will be very festive over the season with evocative ambience and décor for clients wishing to visit for Lunch, Dinner or High Tea, to have a wine tasting in our Cellar Door, or perhaps to check out the latest produce and gifts in our Emporium shop (maybe some early or last minute Christmas shopping?). There is something for everybody!
As well as our ‘regular’ seasonal Tirohana menu, for those wanting a fully festive occasion, we will be offering for group bookings a festive themed set three-course menu for lunch or dinner with choices for each course.

A Christmas group set menu Lunch is three courses (starter, main, dessert) for $65 pp and Dinner is $75 pp for five courses (amuse bouche, starter, main, dessert, petit fours). This price includes Christmas crackers and party hats, along with a festive welcome spritzer/cocktail, and menus can be designed to a group’s preference, and can interweave whatever festive special elements your party would prefer.
But we are also able to tailor-make a special menu designed to a group’s preference, budget and timeframe (maybe if your group was preferring a 1-course meal due to timeframes? Or a 2-course like entree and main, or main and dessert?) and to interweave whatever festive elements your group would prefer.
We can also structure a wine-tasting talk and experience in our ambient wine tasting room as part of your function event.
Don’t forget that dinner includes a courtesy shuttle van service for those staying in Martinborough village (though we can’t guarantee it will be a sleigh with reindeer 🙂 ).
We can host groups of all sizes, large and small. And for those of you wishing to organise a larger group of friends or work colleagues, for groups of 10 – 100 guests, both the restaurant and our Grand Marquee will be available to host your function.
Nestled between the photogenic vines, the Grand Marquee is the perfect location for a larger function or event. The elegant space is a self-contained standalone / private area for dining and other activities, such as music, dancing, speeches and more.
For something lighter as an alternative, another option for groups to socialise over drinks in the Grand Marquee is what is known as a Festive Grazing Table.
Speaking of high tea, we will also be making available some very extra special options for groups of 6 or over including The Tirohana Festive High Tea. This will include several yummy additions to what is currently on offer such as chicken, cranberry and pistachio finger sandwiches, fruit mince tarts, gingerbread cookies, a glass of bubbles and much more – so you can spoil yourself given the season. Special diets catered for. All for $59 per person (our regular lighter style Tirohana High Tea remains at $25 per person excluding beverages).
